Which classes should I Phase 2?

This will be my third semester in Berkeley (undeclared soph. haas & cs, if all works out well).

I have completed the L&S breadth requirements. Hence, I am taking classes that will fulfill my major pre-reqs.

However, I am worried that I am underestimating the amount of work my class schedule will require. I am fairly diligent, but not a genius. Lol.

Here are the classes I have Phased 1:
CS 61A (Enrolled), 4 units
STAT 20 (Enrolled), 4 units
PHYS ED (Enrolled), 0.5 units

These are the classes I need your feedback on which I should Phase 2:
CHINESE 1Y, 5 units
COLLEGE WRITING R4B, 4 units
MATH 54, 4 units

Thanks! I would really appreciate your feedback :)

Hi jchick93! I am also an upcoming sophomore who is planning to take College Writing R4B. If you let me give you a recommendation, I will phase 2 Chinese and College Writing. The math Department usually opens more seats in the discussion sections during the adjustment period. This means that everyone can register. Last semester I was not even in math 54’s waitlist, but I manage to register during the adjustment period. Meanwhile, the CW R4B seats are filling up fast!

Thank you for your advice. I will wait till Adjustment Period for Math 54 then.

Another question, will my courseload be too heavy with 21.5 units?

Your welcome:) Considering that you are taking Math 54, I am going to bet that Stats 20 should not be too hard. Do you have any programming or Experirnce with the Chinese Language? If you do CS 61A and Chinese could be easier than it will be for the average student. College Writing depends hugely on which teacher you select.

*who you choose.
