I am in high school and need help with my schedule. I am gonna take honors chem, ap bio, and honors pre-calc . I am going to take acadedmic lit. I really liked honors world civ but I am not into us history. Should I take ap, honors, or even academic us history 1.
What year are you in?
I would not take Honors Chem and AP Bio at the same time. Take one of them.
Make sure you take Bio, Chem and Physics and at least on AP version of those.
What do you think you might major in? If humanities, I would take AP USH even if it is not your thing.See if it is a requirement. I bet it is.
If STEM, then take honors US History.
i am a freshman now and want to major in biology.
Also, why shouldn’t I take ap bio and honors chem at the same time?
Both AP Biology and Honors Chemistry are very difficult and time consuming courses. You should take Honors Chemistry first in Sophomore year, then take AP Biology your Junior year, followed by either Honors or AP Physics your Senior year.
Because they are very time consuming courses and it would be difficult to do well in both at once. Colleges are not at all expecting you dto double up on sciences…
@bopper explained this very well!
Because you wish to major in Biology in college, defiantly take Honors US History because you aren’t as interested in US History.
About your science courses, yeah… it is not a good idea to double up on sciences, especially honors and AP ones as a sophomore. Like @bopper and @Gumbymom said, while colleges would appreciate a high score in two sciences, it’s not a necessity, and they’re not expecting you to do so. It is probably better to take Honors Chemistry right now and take AP Biology as a junior, and I don’t recommend doubling up in sciences until senior year as lab sciences are really hard!
Have a good day!
The other assumption is if you were someone who could excel at taking two lab sciences at once you would not be here asking about it.
