I am deciding between the two, I want to know which one is better for Computer Science as in undergraduate classes, internships and job placements. I am a resident of Illinois. For Iowa State after the suggested scholarship from their calculator, I would pay around $74,000 for four years with rooming and for UIC before scholarships and with commuting it is $68,000. I do not know what type of scholarship they would offer me, but if anyone wants to guess a range please do. MY unweighted GPA is 3.19, My ACT is 28 and I am in the top 25%. But what I really care about is which school would be better for a CS major. Thanks

That should be obvious. UIUC has a long history of excellence in CS. Whether you can get in with your scores is another matter.

He seems to be asking about UI Chicago

oops. blame the “I see what I was expecting to see” neurological phenomenon. mea culpa.

this seems like a low estimate considering your stats. How much is it suggesting that you’d get in merit each year? What is the COA for the school?

Can you copy/paste the results?

The tuition for the first four semesters is $10308and for the remaining four is $11967. Housing is $4208 per year. The calculator offered $6500 per year, I may have been off by a few grand.

^^
I wonder why Iowa State didn’t include the rest of the Cost of Attendance? Did they only include Housing, but not Board (meals). And what about books and other costs?

Iowa St Univ
Tuition and fees $20,617
Room and board $8,798
Books and supplies $1,043
Estimated personal expenses $2,030
Transportation expenses $400
Estimated Total $32,888

Are you saying that Iowa State’s NPC didn’t indicate a COA like the above? If it didn’t indicate expenses like Meal Plan, books, and so forth, then it’s inaccurate. Be careful to be comparing apples to apples. If one school isn’t including certain expenses and you’re comparing that school to one that does, you might get mislead.
