I recently got into Emory University, Boston University, Northeastern University, New York University, and UNC-Chapel Hill. I am an aspiring physician, so I am looking for strong pre-med coursework and volunteering/clinical experiences. I am an international student, so the price difference between private and public institutions does not make a difference. Which college do you recommend and why?
They are all fine schools. Pick whatever one you want to go to.
Just keep in mind that acceptances to U.S. medical schools for international students is very very very low in number. If your intention is to attend a U.S. medical school…you need to possibly rethink this plan altogether.
@WayOutWestMom can you provide the statistics for admission to U.S. medical schools for international applicants?
The odds of international student being accepted to a US medical school are extremely poor.
In 2019 only 129 internationals in total matriculated into all US medical schools combined.

Also FA for international applicants is all but non-existent. I accepted you must demonstrate you are able to for 100% of the cost of your medical education by either presenting a letter of guarantee from your home country government OR by place up to 4 years of the COA in a US banks escrow account ( or about $350,000-$500,000)
To get focused response, clarify if you are a US citizen or GC Holder either now or expecting within the next 4 years.
Second have you lived in US or any other colder place. Some of your schools are in cold place and some are in between and south and little warmer.
All schools above will provide the foundation but you need to build the castle when in that school.
The poster clearly says he or she is an international student.
I am expecting be be a GC holder within the next four years, since I am aware of the difficulties that international students face on the medical path.
Well then back to your question.
Any of these colleges will be fine for a premed intention.
Those are great schools! So now we start looking at variables- what type of school setting, how big, what resources and experiences are you looking for?
