I've been accepted to Bowling Green State University and Michigan State. I'm a little confused as to which school I should select. I'm into journalism and I really want to pick the school that will get me the most opportunities in my field. I'm a Michigan resident and the in-state tuition is a really attractive aspect of MSU. I really want to select the school that has the best curriculum for journalism majors and the most successful graduates who have majored in journalism.

I’m definitely biased, but I’d go with Michigan state university - it’s cheaper, more well-known nationwide and has a well-respected journalism program (in addition to having better sports, more lively social life etc). Plus being a bigger school there are more student organizations/opportunities set up for students and Michigan >>> Ohio.

Those were my thoughts also. I really don’t know much about Bowling Green; I happened to find out about their school through my counselor and that’s why I applied. When I visited Bowling Green, the best thing there to me was the residential learning community I planned to enroll in. Other than that, I have no clue about journalism there. But, I’m sure I could find the same opportunities at State.
