Naturally, direct admission to CS at Washington is more difficult than getting general admission to Washington. The remaining 200 spaces are subject to a competitive secondary admission process. About 1300 per year take the introductory CS course; eventually about 500 apply to the CS major, based on the reported 40% admission rate that results in 200 admitted to the CS major.
