Which college should I attend?

I live in Arkansas and am a successful student who is currently stressing over what college to attend. I have many options.

Arkansas: 5k scholarship
Colorado State: 10k scholarship
TCU: 20k scholarship
Auburn: 10k scholarship
Florida: still don’t know if I have been admitted, decision date is Feb 12. My family is moving to Florida in the summer so I will get in-state tuition there for 3 out of the 4 years I attend

I very much want to go out of state and i plan on majoring in engineering.

Any opinion or feedback is appreciated. Tidbits of info and tips on each university is great. Let me know what you think of each one. Nevertheless, I know whatever I end up choosing I will love. If you have any questions let me know

While the scholarship numbers are nice you need to think about the bottom line. Put what the cost would be for each school.

How much can your family afford?

Family can afford 33k.
Arkansas is well under budget
CSU I think will be 33k
TCU will be about 4k over budget
Auburn is under budget
Florida is way over budget for first year but after that I will get instate tuition which will make it under budget

Here is what i’m concerned about at each university
Arkansas: Going to college with the same kids I went to HS with
CSU: weather isn’t ideal like a south school, plus students there aren’t
“southern hospitality” friendly
TCU: expensive plus they don’t have an mechanical engineering degree, only a general engineering degree
Auburn: social life seems much less than other universities, not much to do around town
Florida: may be too big like I would get lost in the mass of people for example fewer personal connections with professors and I haven’t visited since my freshman year so I haven’t stepped foot on campus thinking “I could live here one day”

University of Florida if you are certain you can get in state tuition.

If not, Auburn has the next best Engineering programming according to us news.

I’m not sure what your stats are. If they’re high, you may be able to go OOS for a low cost, if not free.

Then go with the cheapest option that has your intended major.

After a little research about cost and majors, Florida is my cheapest option (because my family will be moving there this summer) and has the best engineering option. I have narrowed it down to Auburn and Florida. (Im)patiently waiting for Feb. 12 when UF releases my admission decision

Oh, sorry, I didn’t realize you were a senior (duh).
Yes, go with the cheapest option, since those are all fine schools.

I was about to post Auburn or UF, but I see you reached the same idea before I posted!
Since you’ll be instate for Florida, there’s still time to apply to a few other Florida universities (FSU or FAMU, USF, Polytech?) as well as the Honors College at FIU (to get a few smaller classes). Hurry though.
But instate tuition in Florida is a very good deal and I bet the first year would be close to your budget anyway, while the other years will be WELL under budget.
