Which college should I choose? UIUC or UW Seattle?

I’ve been accepted by both university and really don’t know which one to choose. I’m thinking of majoring in business. I notice that UIUC has a better business school than UW Seattle has, and is a little bit more prestigious than Seattle. However, UIUC is in the middle of no where!! UW on the other hand is in a metropolis and it might mean that I can have a better chance of getting internships or jobs when I graduated.

Could anyone give me any advice about these two colleges? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks…

I’m from Illinois and have visited UIUC around 10 times. It’s true, Champaign is in the middle of nowhere, so if you’re looking for a school with an urban campus, UIUC is not the school for you. However, Champaign is a solid college town, so you definitely have a good college social scene. As for majoring in business, UIUC is definitely the better choice. Their business school has more prestige, and if you already got admitted to the school of business, you’ll be in really good shape.

thanks…
But the thing is I didn’t get into the School of Business. I was accepted by ACES and I’m thinking about transferring to business after my first year. I heard that it is pretty hard to change majors in UIUC, is it so? Also, about job-hunting, is it hard to get a satisfying job after graduation? because after all, UIUC is in the middle of a corn field.

All sorts of companies visit UIUC, so you should not be worried about job-hunting. However, since you have not been admitted to COB, I would go for UW, as transfer rate to COB is only around 40% at UIUC, and you only get once chance to transfer.

UW-Seattle. If you were accepted into UIUC’s business school it’d be a no-brainer, but its (as the previous poster said) incredibly hard to transfer. My sibling visited U of I and they said that it was almost impossible to tranfers colleges. Go to UW and enjoy the metropolitan colussus that is Seattle.

I see. Thanks for your advice.
What it like in UW Seattle. Seriously, I know nothing about this university. How about employment? JOBS are really one of my greatest concern right now.

Could anyone give me some detail information about UW Seattle? Any kind of information will be fine. I just want to know this university more.

Also, if I would like to apply law school after I finish my undergraduate, which one of these do you guys think would be a better choice for me?

I wasn’t aware that you didn’t get into the College of Business at UIUC. I would have to agree with everyone else because I’ve heard it’s extremely difficult to transfer into the business school, even from within UIUC.

University of Washington is Beautiful. I think that it would fit nicely with your desire for an urban school. Not only is downtown Seattle literally in your back yard, but the urban center of Bellevue is just a short drive away. These two cities offer everything you could possibly want in a city, from Major League Soccer and NFL games at Quest Field, to musical theatre at the 5th Avenue and Paramount Theatres. Still, there’s more to the Pacific Northwest than the cities. Nature is absolutely central to the Washington experience. In Puget Sound dozens of islands dot the horizon, offering unlimited opportunities for camping, biking, or sailing. In the opposite direction, Ranier and the surrounding mountains make day trips for hiking and skiing possible. Seattle truly is the best of both worlds.

thank you all for your advice. It really helped me a lot. What about the academical environments down there in UW? I heard that the neighbourhood can be really messy sometimes. I’m now seriously considering about UW right now.
