Which College Should I Go To? Help!

Just a few quick stats...I got a 800 on the math portion of the SATs. I have around a 3.45. I like math much more than any kind of english classes. Probably going to major in engineering, probably in the direction of eletrical. But dont want to count out civil because i love to design things. I applied to 8 schools, mostly big time schools, because I have a love for sports and want to go to a big school where they are big time. I have gotten into Purdue, Pitt, Miami of Ohio, Penn State, Clemson, and Georgia Tech. Waiting to hear from Virginia Tech and Bucknell. I like the south because of its awesome weather, but also more interested in going to the best school for me. Lets say i get into both (VT and Bucknell) as well, where do you think the best place for me to go.

Georgia Tech would be my personal choice for engineering of the schools on your list. All are fine for engineering though so go with your gut instinct in terms of other factors such as social life, campus atmosphere, distance from home, financial considerations, etc. Good luck - you will be fine whatever school you choose.

If you are from any of the home states and can get state tuition, go there. If money is not a factor, then Penn State. I think Penn State is the most selective on your list next to Georgia Tech and Penn State has a graduation rate 10% higher than what you'd expect based on their selectivity. Georgia Tech, on the other hand, has a graduation rate 12% lower than what you would expect. I think students are happier at Penn State than at Georgia Tech.

Virginia Tech is a great school, especially for engineering. The weather in Virginia is also a nice blend of south/north, especially in the Blacksburg area. You get a mild ammount of snow during the winter with nice fall and spring times and then warm/hot summers. Georgia Tech is also good for engineering, but less noticable seasons and more warm weather, if that's what your'e going for.
