I’v been thinking for the longest time about which college I should go to.
I have been accepted to and am considering:
SUNY Stony Brook
SUNY UBuffalo
CUNY Baruch
I want:
-Really good business school/program. I want to concentrate on finance and economics.
-Away from home is preferred. I want to experience dorms. I don’t know how good Baruch’s business school is compared to the SUNYs. (Note I live in Brooklyn so no dorms if I go to Baruch.)
Stonybrook is a science school so I’d rule that out. It won’t look as impressive if you graduate from there because they are known for strictly science. I’m sure their classes are good but probably not the best choice. I heard amazing things about Baruch thiu
No, Stonybrook is not just a science school. It is a well rounded school that used to be stronger in science than humanities but that has changed. The two SUNY schools would be markedly differently from the experience you would have at Baruch. Since I think the college experience should include dorms, I’d advise the SUNYs over Baruch. Buffalo would give you the experience of life outside the NY Met area-this may be the last opportunity before you are looking to move for a job-good to sample life outside metro NY. It is another world!
