I can’t decide between going to University of Arkansas or University of Oklahoma. I have been accepted to both and they would cost around the same to go to. I don’t have friends going to either of them and am interested in biology but I don’t want to choose a college completely based on their programs. I am mainly focused on the social aspect and the fun that I will be able to have at the college. I am interested in rushing a fraternity. What are yall’s experiences with OU and arkansas and which college do you think has the best greek life, social aspect, and has the overall friendliest and nicest people?
Did you tour either school? What were your own opinions on them? I don’t have much knowledge about either but everyone in Arkansas is a Razorbacks fan and the games are pretty fun to go to.
I don’t think anyone one here is going to have a solid background on these schools. so you’re honestly better off researching on your own.
but with the little research that i’ve done. U of Okla. is going to be the more crazy social school. afterall, if you can research a school and have some sort of “fraternity” news headline. they’re obviously crazy.
from the pictures of u of ark. it’s going to be a nice school to go to. but it’snot going to be the social aspect you’re looking for. they have the social events (frats, sororities) but the people there seem very bleak and reserved.
but then again this is my opinion. best source is to look for their frat facebook page and look around.
There’s someone from Oklahoma that posts very frequently on the boards (their icon is also the Sooners logo), but I can’t remember their username this second…

Myself and another OU student already answered the OP’s question in an identical thread he posted on the Search and Selection board.
SAE was obviously crazily racist but by no means is the entire greek system at the school crazy. In fact, OU’s dry campus policy makes frat parties less wild than at other schools. I also assure you that if I thought for a moment that my sorority practiced or encouraged any sort of non gender based discrimination (it is a single sex organization after all) I would immediately quit.
Students at the University of Arkansas are also not all bleak and reserved. It is a school of 26,000 students. Presumably at least a few crack a smile or occasionally talk to others.

You can find a “fraternity news headline” for every school with a (significant) Greek Life presence…doesn’t mean they’re crazy at all.
I think that the deciding factor for me is going to be which college I will have the most fun at since I believe I can get a similar education at both schools. What is your experience with it at OU compared to anything you have heard about Arkansas? I have not had a good time in highschool and do not want a repeat of it for my last years of school.
