Which college should I pick

Hi,

I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine and for the undergrad, and I am thinking of a majoring in Biochem or related Premed stream. I have following options available :

U Mich - LSA : No Scholarship

Case Western : 25K Scholarship

Urbana-Champaign Biochem - No Scholarship

Pittsburgh Honors College - 10K scholarship

Emory - Oxford - no scholarship

I am torn between U Mich and Case. U Mich has a better reputation, but it will cost almost 100K more for my undergrad. I plan to do post grad in a Med school, and I think Case is also a good choice with Cleveland Clinic around the corner where i can get plenty of opportunities to research/practical experience.

U Pitt Honors college is also the least expensive but I am not sure about the strength of their undergrad premed options. However finances are not my number one concern; if one school is significantly better, I am open to spending the extra money as long as their is a good Return on investment

I would greatly appreciate your feedback on the above choices and what in your view would make most sense.

Thanks for your feedback!!!!

For what you want Case would be an excellent choice. Not only is the Cleveland Clinic a block away, University Hospitals is literally on campus. There are lots of research/intern/volunteer opportunities for undergrads. Save your money for grad school. Have you visited?

I am planning on visiting later this month. Thanks for your feedback

If you plan to go to med school, then you really want to minimize your undergrad debt.
In addition, you want to be able to volunteer and do research and Case will let you do both of those.
