so i was thinking about applying to UC's and my goal is UCSD, but just in case i dont get in, i want to know which of the following i should go to.
UC irvine, whos ranked higher and harder to get in, but whose program for my major isnt that great, or
UC Riverside, who's rank is not that good and not as prestiage, but their psych major is really good.
which one should i pick ? thx

Why are you deciding now? Why not apply to all 3 and see what happens?

As much as people poop on UCR, location, night life and student bodies at UCSD and UCI really aren’t that much better. If only for two years while really focusing on learning psyche I would say UCR is not a bad bet. It may not be the most glamorous college experience but is still a good school and UCR does have decent on and off campus housing options as well.

@mom2collegekids: oh i was just wondering what i should do if i were to be accepted by both irvine and riverside. got a make a choice dont i? haha
@kmazza: im just afraid that if i were to go to riverside, i’d have a diffuclt time finding grad school because as you said “people poop” on UCR, so…

Right! But, you’ve got MONTHS to decide…and you may find that you like another school even better in the meantime.

You’re instate for Calif, right?

What are your stats?

Which school is your financial safety school (the school that you know that you’ll get accepted to you KNOW that you can afford?)

*gpa weighted 3.85 / unweighted 3.5
UC gpa: for some reason i still get a 3.5
sat 1970 (writing 690, reading 670, math 620)
sat 2 Chinese 800, world history 720

What is your UC GPA? If you don’t know, you need to figure that out.

ahh i’d say around 3.77 last time i did it
