which college to choose

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I have got admission for Fall 2009 in the MS Information System at NYU and MS Information Technology program at Rutgers. I am an international student and don't have financial aid for either programs. I was doing some r&d about financial aid at NYU and Rutgers and found that Rutgers has some research which I could be involved in to pay for a part of the tuition fees but I did not find anything similar at NYU. From what I read NYU does not much financial aid for MS programs. I am wondering what college to choose as even though I will be loan to pay for college but these teaching/research assistant jobs at Rutgers seem to be a good option to pay for my tuition later on. But NYU is a better brand name. I am confused :( Any suggestions?</p>

<p>NYU is not that big of a brand name over Rutgers. Rutgers is a GREAT institution and many would choose the option to pay their fees there over NYU. NYU is notorious for giving poor financial aid packages or assistance and frankly in the eyes of many is overrated. Sure it is excellent in some fields, but so is Rutgers. I would attend Rutgers without a doubt. By the way once you get on campus, you have to make contacts and get to know people. There are often MANY options to get your tuition partially paid for or waived. Talk to the grad students at Rutgers.</p>
