Which college/uni will I fit into?

Hi! So I'm an international student from India. I'm sending my apps and I have a few places in mind but I want to apply to some other ones as well. I go to an international, private school (upper-middle class), I don't require financial aid, and our school's what you would call 'preppy.' I don't care about 'cliques' and all, but I do like to party :) (greek life doesn't matter though). I'm also ready to handle a heavy workload. I'm not that bothered with prestige but it matters a bit to my parents. I'm interested in liberal arts but I want to keep other unis in mind as well. I'm posting my stats below, so can you please recommend some places that would be a good fit?

Thank you so much for your help guys :)

Have you tried the SuperMatch tool on the left side of this page?

@T26E4 Yup haha. It just gives me way too many random choices that’s why I thought it’d be easier to ask :)

Apply to Lafayette College!

There are easily 50-100 colleges and universities that are suitable based on your stats and stated (and somewhat generic) interests. That you don’t expect financial aid makes many colleges possible. Follow the convention that American college counsellors often recommend for US high school seniors, starting with 2 safeties, 4 or so match and 2 or so reach colleges. Because you’re international you don’t have obvious (“in state”) choices for safeties so think these through first. Perhaps your safeties are to stay in your home country. Any the best approach for someone in your situation is to schedule a thorough college tour.

@fogcity I was looking at Vassar and some of the ivies. Would it be a reach? Could you recommend some match schools? All I’ve got is a bunch of reach and safety schools

how traditional has your family life been and will your parents be more interested in a conservative education for you?I’m thinking for instance that Vassar and some of the other women’s colleges would be good fits for you if you were an American upper class female, but I’m not so sure your parents would want you to attend a very liberal (in terms of politics and lifestyle) institution such as Vassar or Bryn Mawr or Bard or Bennington.

Do you have any preferences about geography? About size of school? About female-only vs. coed schools? About urban vs. suburban vs. rural?

Anticipated area(s) of study (more specific than “liberal arts”)?

@gandalf78 Hi! I think I should’ve specified this before haha. Geography doesn’t really matter to me, though I was hoping it should be close to a city  I would prefer a co-ed school. I’m looking at economics, psychology and theater :)

Jkeil911, as Vassar hasn’t been a women’s college since 1969, and is the most economically diverse selective university in the US, it is not just for “upper class females”.

sorry, I often confuse vassar with smith, and this time I didn’t catch myself. I never said however that it was only for the upper class. We’re trying to get the OP to narrow down her interests; my question to OP remains: will your parents nix schools that are very liberal in their social mores?

@jkeil911 haha no not my dad at least. He’s very supportive of it and my mom doesn’t mind. I’m not conservative, I’m a huge supporter of LGBT rights  I already sent ED II to Vassar, I was just asking about some other ones I could send it to.
