I am wanting to get a music business and production degree online. I have searched for colleges that offer this and have not been able to find that many. Basically I found Berklee and Full Sail University. Berklee has both a music business and music production certificate program as well as an artist management certificate program. They also have courses in music publishing, concert touring, and music industry entrepreneurship as well as other related courses.
Full Sail has a bachelors degree program online for both music management and music production. And, with them it says you can go back and do any of the courses over again or take any courses you may need to in order to keep up with the business for free once you have gotten your degree.
I was considering Full Sail because they offer a bachelors degree instead of a certificate program. But, I heard on another message board from several people who went to Full Sail or know people who went there that it is really hard to get a job after you get the degree. So, that makes me think that maybe Berklee is a better choice. But, I'm wondering if it would be hard to get a job once you complete the certificate program with them since it's not a bachelors degree and just a certificate.
Any thoughts or experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Berklee is a better choice, if only by default. I know nothing about music business or production programs, but I am from Orlando and know all about Full Sail. Full Sail is not regionally accredited. Essentially a degree from there is meaningless because nobody will recognize the credits. You’re screwed for employment or if you want to get a Master’s at another university. Don’t be fooled by Full Sail’s marketing!

Thanks for the reply. I thought Full Sail wasn’t so good once I heard what some others had said about not being able to get a job with the degree. I was just thinking a bachelors degree may be better then the certificate. But, it looks like Berklee is best even though it is a certificate program. So now I just have to look into financial aide if it’s available for the certificate program. Thanks.

I would go with Berklee

So, Berklee it is. They do have financial aide options and one that I think would work for me. I just contacted them to ask for the details. Thanks for helping me decide, it does really seem to be the best option.

Now I have a question about which course I should take. I’m wanting to go into music management and production, so it seems there are four courses and I’m trying to decide what to do. There’s music business, music business and technology, music production and technology, and artist management. Which one seems to fit what I’m wanting to do best?
