Which colleges can I transfer to??

I am a sophmore transfer with mostly 200 and 300 level honors courses. very few introductory and 100 level courses and excellent prof. recommendations!!

HS GPA: 3.3
GPA at Miami University (OH): 3.7
ACT: 26

my ec's include about 100 volunteer hours, captain of hs varsity football team, accounting team in high school , i placed in the top ten at the annual district wide competition. i've also had many jobs.

my first semester of college i took 20 credit hours, which is the max at Miami and am taking 18 or 21 second semester given i can get permission for excess hours.

What colleges can I get into? preferably a school with a business program but I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks!!

looks like u can get into top schools :)

You show really good improvement from your HS record to college and universities love to see this. At the same time, when you say sophomore transfer, you mean that you are a first year right now? If so, this will hurt because they are going to weight your HS record a lot more.

As for getting into top schools… Its a straight up crapshoot. I would not have high hopes, but I would give it a shot! If you truly want to get out of Miami, also apply to safety schools that you will for sure get into.

Thanks!! But yeah I am a first year studen right now :(

I was lookimg at UMiami, American, NYU, Northeastern, Emory and Georgetown.

What do you think my chances are?

Honestly, I would say go ahead and apply. If you don’t get into where you want then stay one more year and get quality EC’s and raise your GPA as much as possible.

NYU Stern is kind of out of reach with those HS stats. If you can get some ECs and a GPA of around or above 3.5, I think you would be good for everything but Stern.

what do you mean a GPA of around 3.5?

I have a 3.7. I know my ec’s are lame. need to improve that

shes probably mistaken, but the fact that you have a 3.7 for only one semester is not indicative of how well you are going to perform in college. Colleges really like to see you prove yourself before you transfer if you had poor hs stats

bumppp!!!

i am also involved in two of Miami’s business clubs as ec’s

I was looking at applying to Northwestern also…
