Which colleges give you the opportunity to do research as an undergraduate?

Do you guys know which colleges give you the opportunity to do research as an undergraduate?

Lots of colleges do. You can get the opportunity at most research universities and also at most liberal arts colleges as well; LACs have less research funding usually, but they also have no grad students competing to help the professors with their research. One of my kids is a freshman at a STEM college, and she is researching on campus this summer after her freshman year. All of her friends who are freshman who wanted to research on campus also got paid research positions for the summer.

that’s something to check out when you visit, but also see how much lip service is paid to u/g research on their websites. if the paid research for freshmen is something new at a lot of schools. ask the admissions office about u/g research in the fields in which you’re interested? check the websites for students from that school. ask on the college forum for each school here at CC. ask about money, lodging, competition with grad students.
