<p>I would go with junior/senior year teachers to be safe. Mainly junior year.</p>
<p>While jr year is generally best, I think it all depends on your situation. For instance, my D used a soph teacher, but it was an AP course and she was working as the teacher’s aide for the same class sr year. I think the strength of the recommendation is more important than strictly going by the year you had the teacher.</p>
<p>If you are unsure I would email your adcom officer, and ask. Some colleges explicity say it doesn’t matter, but I think to be safe I’d usually go with a jr or sr year teacher.</p>
