I live in connecticut and want to go out of state, preferably New York or Massachusetts, no further down south than maryland.
You need to list your preferences and parameters: region, city/rural, size, affordability, etc.
I live in connecticut and want to go out of state, preferably New York or Massachusetts, no further down south than maryland. I like schools where there are a lot of things to do (probably in or near a city) and i need a school with a lot of majors because i dont know what i want to do with my life. Id like to get some money but im not looking for full tuition
Small or big? Public or private? Liberal arts or university? Any other preferences?
What is your math + cr score?
Did you take the ACT?
610 cr 590 math 650 writing
i did not take the act
preferably a large university
Most important question - how much can your family afford?
If you are comfortable in a truly urban environment, you should look at Temple. If that isn’t appealing, try University of Delaware. Otherwise, URI, UNH, or UVM are possibilities. Pace is exorbitantly expensive, but you might qualify for some aid there. American might be a bit of a reach for any merit aid, but you are definitely within their academic range.
Syracuse, UMass Amherst, maybe Fordham
Hobart&William Smith or St Lawrence if you can relax the “large university” criterion.
Otherwise, SUNY OSwego, SUNY Bing (reach), SUNY Geneseo (reach), UMass Amherst, Baruch, CUNY CSI, UDel, URI, Penn State IF you apply “DUS” (?“summer session”), Temple, UMD-BC.
would boston university, fordham, or syracuse be a reach?
Stony Brook, Fordham (slightly reach-y), UVM, Syracuse, UMass, Hofstra, URI, UNH, SUNY Albany, U. of Buffalo, Penn State - University Park, Temple.
The 25%~75% for the Cr+Math
Fordham 1160-1350
Syracuse 1080-1270
Boston U 1180-1390
You are 1200.
Fordham is a reach. Syracuse is a match. Boston U is a reach.
Note that I am really just guesstimating this.
You might retake the SAT or try the ACT to increase your chances for a merit scholarship.
