Which computer class to take? (Dual-enrollment)

I’m a high school senior doing dual-enrollment at the U of Minnesota. I plan to go into civil engineering in college. I’m trying to decide which class I should take spring semester:

computer applications in civil engineering I, or

intro to C++ for science/engineering majors

The first one seems more applicable for civil major, but maybe too specific for a high school student?

Thanks for your inputs!

if #1 is CAD, these two classes are like totally different classes. just decide if you want to learn CAD or programming language first. you'll probably need both eventually.

The course catalog says:

Introduction to computer tools/methods for solving civil engineering problems. Spreadsheets, Autocad, Mathcad, Visual Basic. Numerical integration, curve fitting, linear/nonlinear equations, differential equations

for Computer Apps in CE.

It doesn't sound too specific to me. My guess is that they'll just use civil engineering examples in the work instead of something generic.

Thanks for taking the time to look into that! The applications one definitely sounds more interesting...
