So, I've applied to three colleges in FL. I got into all 3 (UCF,UF,USF). I plan to pursue a degree in computer engineering or computer science (I declared CE but I'm having second thoughts). USF has offered to more than half of everything per year. While I would have to pay almost everything at UF and UCF. Because UCF is less than an hour away, I may commute daily to save money, but I would be missing the a grand part of the college experience. From what I have heard UF has the best mechanical engineering program hands down. Though their computer engineering program is just about the same as UCF. USF is a close third. What would you do? Suggestions.?!

Anybody at all.?

Other possible forums to ask your question: FL colleges (under State forums) and the Engineering Majors forum.

What about Bright Futures? Do you qualify?

Yes I currently qualify for the FMS award. But i am going to retake to meet the criteria for the FAS award.

So, is this to get the bigger BF? so, then what would you pay at UF or UCF?

Have you run the net price calculators at these schools? What is your EFC? Do you qualify for any aid?

I happen to know 2 people who pursued computer engineering degrees within the past 5 years; one graduated from UF and secured a career job immediately. The other is graduating from UCF this May and doesn’t have any offers so far. I have no idea if this is a reflection on the respective merits of the programs or the individuals involved, so take from it what you will.

Do you hope to stay in Florida after graduation? If so, there is no stronger alumni network in the state than UF’s.
