Which Computer programming class to take?

<p>Hello, I'm going to be an engineering student next year. However, I'm not sure what I want to major in yet.
I was wondering, if I'm going to be a chemical engineering major, should i take matlab or java? and if i'm going to be an ORIE major, matlab or java?</p>

<p>I suggest Matlab for ChemE, and Java for OR.</p>

<p>Either way you will take both Matlab and Java. One is a regular class, while the other is a transition class.</p>

<p>I agree that you should take Matlab for ChemE, and Java for OR. You need upper level CS classes for OR and they use Java.</p>
