Which conservatory would you most recommend attending?

Hi! I am applying for AMDA (NY), AADA (NY) and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. I know a good amount about each, but cannot afford to visit the campuses before I apply & audition. Which out of those three do you think I will have the most beneficial experience?

Also do you know how many credits I need to have completed to be considered a transfer student, if possible? I'm in college right now.

I think I am most interested in going to AADA. I am pretty interested in NYCDA, but I want to make sure it is a respected school and not a scam. I have heard a lot of negative feedback about AMDA which put me on edge a bit.

Also, will I be able to transfer into a BFA program with each of these schools?

Most BFA Acting programs will expect you to spend at 3 - 4 years training at that BFA program in order to receive your degree, regardless of how many credits you may have from a different college or conservatory program.

AMDA has an option to obtain a BFA degree through their LA campus (NYC students can do two years in NYC and then go to LA to complete their education and obtain their degree). In this instance general education classes you have taken prior to attending AMDA might be counted towards your general education requirements. It is unlikely that AMDA (or any other conservatory [AADA or NYCDA] of BFA program) would accept performance class credits from another institution.
It appears the AADA has an articulation agreements with a few colleges that would allow you to transfer your AADA credits and then obtain a Bachelor’s Degree (BA or a BS, depending on which college). Those colleges may accept general education classes you have taken prior to attending AADA to be counted towards your general education requirements at the college.
It does not appear that NY Conservatory for Dramatic Arts offers a BFA degree, nor do they appear to have any articulation agreements with colleges that offer Bachelor’s Degrees.

Hope that this information is helpful. :)

The NYCDA does have articulation agreements with a few colleges, they are listed on their websites.
