Which could i get into for either econ of finance?

3.4 uw gpa 4.2 w gpa, top 19 % in class of 1000

28 act

UW-Madison

U of I Urbana —i live in illinois

Texas Austin

IU-Bloomington

Miami OH

decent ec’s. which of these would be the best in either econ or finance (preferably finance) in matters of finding a job after college or applying for graduate school?

i don't think you'd want to apply for grad school when you graduate unles you want to get like your phd.

anyway, the best schools on that list are UIUC and UT-Austin, both for finance since you'd want to be in the business programs.

a bunch of people here on these forums are going to tell you how amazing iu-bloomington is. let's just say there are some avid kelley supporters here.. haha...

yea i still dont understand how kelley gets so much hype yet it seems SO easy to get into. when i tell people what schools im looking to go to and i say iu next to uw and u of i it just sounds way less prestigious.

You need to apply to all of these.

First, getting into Texas from OOS is really difficult--and a lot of people don't even want to go to Texas unless they can get into the honors program. The reason is that the honors program at Texas is far superior to the regular program there.
Second, Illinois is taking fewer and fewer business students from in-state (I know people with 3.7 GPA UW in-state who got turned down there this year)
Third, you want to have choices--so let's make sure you get accepted to at least a few schools--okay
