which country should I prefer???

I'm Indian and I am not really sure where I should do my UG in engineering..... I heard that US universities are a lot reputed compared to Indian ones but I don't think I'd be able to afford them.( My sat score is < 2100 and not many scholarships are offered to students like me.)..
My other options include :
Canada - Utoronto, McGill, Waterloo, Univ of british columbia.( not sure about the job opportunities there but I heard that they are not as expensive as the US ones... )
HKU and HKUST
NUS and NTU ( pretty tough though )
and finally... INDIA ( Have to give up my life to study for IITs :( :( )
And here's my profile...
SAT score : 2090
AP State board in 11th and 12th.. My 11th % is about 97
Till 10th, CBSE and maintained 10 GPA
Bagged few olympiads and and did little community service.. Active in cultural activities and events but only within my school..
So here I want some real advice ASAP coz I have to decide whether to write College app essays, prepare for SAT and spend hundreds of dollars on applications itself or prepare for the standard Indian entrance tests...
Thanks a lot!
P.S: Have any idea about the UK universities??

Also I will not be able to take APs but I’ll take the sat subject tests. Is that OKAY?

Dude! For HK univs . u don require sat, ap or english proficiency test… N if u will maintain ur class 11 %age then u can also get into ntu

thanks! Are those any better than the Indian ones? And what about Canada? Even Canadian Universities only check your high school GPA
Btw… getting into ntu is not that easy…my friend got 98.5% and got rejected. Indians intake has decreased over the years…

McGill n U of T are excellent univs… N HK univs are also very gd univs.

I don knw abt that but 4 yrs back my frnd applied to nus n got in wid only 95% . In which board he was in? For state brds … They select only 98.5% + students

Hi I am a current student at HKU and it is my advice that you apply for your preferred universities asap! As far as HKU is concerned their application deadline is on 30th December so if you want to get into HKU then its better if you apply for it and btw SAT is not compulsory for HKU, even I didn’t appear for it!

Hi Mohith,

My son has got offer of admission from HKU. We are from India and have some specific questions. We need to accept offer by February 2nd. Can we email you our questions.

What did you end up doing in the end? I’m in the exact same position (same SAT score, same AP IPE percentage etc) It’d mean a lot if you could give me some input.
