which course should i take?

if you had to choose from these classes what would you take? what would look better on a transcript for transferring from JC

Philosophy 1

Ethnic Literature of the US

Shakespeare

philosophy for a broader spectrum of analytical thinking/logic.

the other two classes are too defined to look beneficial to a college. generally you want to take general educational classes at a JC. wait for a 4-year to do more specific classes.

although it does depend on your intended major. if you were a prospective literature major, the latter two might be better than philosophy, but in terms of which will make you look like a more well-rounded thinker, philosophy might be the key.

just my opinion.

Shakespeare, but that’s just because I really like him and his work (Will and I are involved ;D). I’ve taken philosophy (ethics) and it was rather boring. Depends on the class and the teacher for that, though, I suppose.

I would go with the Ethnic Lit of the US as it shows diversity, interest in something that is not typical, and that you actually might be willing to learn something.

Philosophy I is actually a pretty easy class and despite it’s approach on ‘logic’ or ‘reasoning’ it’s actually up to the student in how to define those. Basically show up, and you get a good mark.

Shakespeare, depends on what aspect the course studies.

I’d go with Philosophy. It’ll give you a good idea of whether you like the field and if you wish to pursue it you’ll have the basic skills you need to succeed in more difficult courses.

The Ethnic Lit course looks worst out of the three in my opinion.

Anything but ethnic lit.
If a class’ material focuses solely on ethnicity it’ll probably be a bunch of politically correct crap (the discussions, not the books)
