Which courses to take Freshman year?

I am a prospective math major for grad school.

I am exempted from Language requirement ( as english is second language). I have 5 on AP Physics C and Chemistry

which courses should I take Freshman year?

are there requirements specific to first year students except the Writing one?

No, the writing requirement is–as far as I know–the only requirement you must fulfill in your first year. You’ll want to get started on the other distribution requirements sooner rather than later, however. First semester, I’d recommend taking a class in your prospective major, the writing requirement, and then one class from either two of the other distribution fields, i.e. natural science, social science, humanities, or one of these and the R&E requirement. I won’t make recommendations for second semester because you’ll want to make those decisions in light of how the first term went.

Note that your AP credits will not count toward the seven credits you must complete in natural sciences.

Math 295 definitely. If for some reason you can’t get into it, take 451.
Some writing.
I don’t know if you want to have some other focus to complement math. You might take EECS 183 or 280 (depending on your skill level) or Econ 401, or something else.
Maybe just some SS, HU, or NS class.
