I live in Sacramento, Ca and I got accepted in SJSU, CSULB, and CSUS. I’m still waiting on Chico but my application status still says pending. I will be a transfer fall 2019 student. However I don’t know which university is best for me. I’m still not sure what I want to study.
What major will you be transferring as, and what other majors are you interested in?
Look up how difficult it will be to change major at each campus.
I am transferring as a liberal arts major with the goal of becoming an elementary school teacher but I’m just not too sure if that’s what I actually want to do… I’ll definitely look at how difficult it is to change major at each university. Thank you!
Also do you know where you want to live/work when you graduate? Not sure about teaching, but those school often hire very well into their local areas.
I’m not too sure honestly. I was born and raised in Sacramento so I’ve lived here my entire life. Haven’t really had the opportunity to experience other cities. But thank you for your comment!
I would lean towards Long Beach or San Jose. It will get you out of your little bubble / comfort zone in Sacramento.
@Sandraalfaro Since you are not absolutely sure on your future career path pick the campus that appeals to you most and has a quality of life that you want to experience. I agree with @socaldad2002 to try something out of your comfort zone. Teaching will be possible with degrees any of those three campuses. You can always come back to your home town of Sacramento for the credential or grad school or that first teaching job should you choose teaching
@socaldad2002 @readthetealeaves thank you for the responses! I am definitely trying to step out and experience! My only concern is that San Jose is pretty expensive. I’ll look more into Long Beach and San Jose!
Generally, if you’ve been admitted by CSULB, Chico is also very likely to accept you. Spend some time on each of the campuses, talk to some students and go where you think you will fit.
Congrats on the admits so far! and good luck
@NCalRent really? My application has been saying pending for a while now but we’ll see what happens. Thank you for your comment! I’ll continue to do more research!
As a CSULB professor, I can say that we have a lot of great liberal arts faculty. And a great college of education for you to pursue your teaching credential: http://www.csulb.edu/college-of-education/quick-facts-about-the-college-of-education . Good luck with your decision and go beach!
