Which CSU's match me?

3.15 gpa
1280 CR+Math

I plan to major in business. I already applied to SDSU and SLO, but what other schools would you reccomend.

You will probably get into any of the other Cal States so apply where you want.

Which would be best for business?

college town or commuter? because those 2 you applied to already are the best CSU's for business, maybe cal poly pomona too

either would be ok. But rather have a college town

Chico State is in a college town and is supposed to have a pretty good business program.

Yea, I would say apply to chico too, if you don't get into Cal Poly or SDSU, use it as a safety

also, if you live within SDSU's service area (in san diego), you basically get in automatically if you meet minimum eligibility

How is chico compared to Long Beach, Fullerton, or Northridge.

Long Beach, Fullerton, and Northridge are commuter schools, being in urban/suburban type areas with 30,000+ people attending each. I'd rather attend small town schools that have more of a college feel, like humboldt, SLO, chico.

How would they rate academically?

Double, a couple of things - I'm a parent from a very affluent community in Northern California. One of the things I learned when I moved here 15 years ago was that there are a large number of very successful Chico graduates here. I was surprised, because Chico had a reputation as just a party school back in my day (and still does, to an extent.) When I was looking into California schools for my older son a couple of years ago I compared the average gpa and SAT scores of students who enrolled in different CSU's and UCs. I figured the best test of how a college rates academically is the academic quality of the students who choose to attend the school. Of the CSU's, CalPoly SLO had the highest stats, followed by SDSU. The next group down included Chico, CalPoly Pomona and Sonoma State, if I recall correctly - which pretty much tracks the US News rankings, as well. I think Long Beach, Fullerton and Northridge were a small step lower. You'll probably get into SDSU with those stats (kind of borderline, above-average SATs but your gpa could be better) but should definitely be pretty solid at the others. Check 'em all out. You can get a great education at any of them.

Chico's computer science department historically has support and funding from Silicon Valley and I know someone who had very good job placement out of there. I also know another person who enrolled in the honors program where you have an honors dorm and do much of your gen ed req the first year, then do your major. Also my friend had a great time in the outdoors river tubing etc.

anyone know a good CSU for a history major? for sprng 2006 i've decided to go to sonoma state...though i'm not sure i'll stay there since i'm still waiting on Northridge, Long Beach, and Fullerton admission status fr next fall 2006..of those 4 CSU's i listed which would be the best? i also got acccepted for Spring 2006 to CSU sacramento and San Bernardino, but chose SOnoma over them

Double,
SDSU is particularly geared toward business majors; that would be my first choice for you.

rly, Sonoma State is strong in Humanities in general. I almost went there myself many years ago to supplement some graduate work in one area. :-)

i heard sonoma has business connections with the wine industry...
