is credit union good?? or should I just get one from bank of america??

i did bank of america since its really close to campus =P.

I'm going to open an account at Wachovia. How far is it from campus? I guess bank of america is ok, but I just like the sound of wachovia...haha

Ugh, I hated Wachovia. It was terrible. There were tons of hidden charges everywhere. But that's just my experience.

Really?? I thought they had free saving and checking. hmm I'll have to investigate.

Isn't there a list of close-by banks on the '09 site? I just picked a bank that was close by me at home and set up an account. Plus, almost all of those banks on the site have ATMs on campus. I think.

I know PNC does. But I don't have PNC in new york...I'm just going to wait, banks are going to have tables set up during orientation, right?

And yes, the 09 website listed PNC, Bank of America and Wachovia, I think. Maybe more

I think Chase is nearby, too.

And sovereign, except I can't find their rates.

we have no pnc either :(. go bank of america!

another vote for bank of america!

Does anyone else have negative experiences with Wachovia?
I guess I'll do B of A if it's so popular...

S has Wachovia for about 3 months and it is great. The website is easy, bill pay feature is wonderful and I think they give rebates for using other banks atms, they can send uou balance alerts......they are close by. Near E-quad

all that's free with Wachovia Extra Free Checking.

is chase bank far away from the campus??

B of A is good. their campus edge account is a nice deal

sooo... credit union = bad?

ceedit union not bad, but you also need the flexibility to bank in your home town.

Go BOA! ATM parties, whoop whoop! Haha.

BOA is the best for campus, theres an ATM right in Frist which is an added convenience.

can u get a BOA debit card without having a social security number??
