I'm about to write my common app essay-I can't decide which of these would be better. If you think none of these are good, please tell me. I have time to rewrite, rethink, etc. Do any seem interesting to you?

About how being a fraternal twin changed the way I grew up and how I approached my social life. About how he influenced me.

About my interest in cooking, and how I grew to love it. About my academic interest to learn about foods and cooking styles. (Might be hard to write; it might make me sound like I want to become a chef instead).

About how I chipped my front tooth by being too competitive when riding my bicycle as a youngster. About how it taught me to not be so competitive.

About something else.

Thanks.

As a foodie, I prefer the cooking topic. But if you can tie it to your major, that would be golden. Something about the similarities between engineering processes and bringing together the different ingridients to create a unified flavor in a dish?

For me, it would be industrial engineering or economics. I suppose I could relate economics to helping to decide cost-efficient meals?

I really like the first option about your fraternal twin and how you approach your social life. It seems like it has a lot of potential to be great.

Twin and cooking are both great. It may be hard to put together economics and being a twin, though.

Maybe you could write about being a twin for the supplement?

I love the cooking one. You might not need to tie cooking specifically to your intended majors. Tying it into academics in general would be enough for me, were I a reader. I think.

I suppose I could tie it in with academics in general.
