Which documents can be photocopied and which not?

I know Common Application says that teacher and counselor recommendations can be photocopied, but does it also apply to other documents? I mean, transcript, school profile or fee waiver request. Do they need an original signature or are photocopies accepted?

The main reason I ask is that I am an international student and our school only issues one transcript per student. That means I can send an authentic copy to only one college.

At my school, there was no signature on the school profile, so we made copies. Also, at my school we made copies of transcripts, but we put stamps of the signatures on. I think that as long as it has the signature, it's fine. You could put a notice explaining your situation, just to be safe.

So there has to be an original signature or stamp, no matter what. Right?

So many views and just one reply. That means there are many interested about it. Nobody can clear this out?

I think, you can photocopy but everything should be signed, attested after the photocopy. Photocopied stamps have no value at all!

The transcript must be "official" which means it must have an original signature or seal. In that way, the school knows that it has not been altered. A photocopied transcript does not meet this requirement.

School reports can be photocopied.

I don't know about fee waiver requests.

Since you have a specific problem, you may wish to contact the International Admissions office at the schools to which you wish to apply, and ask them about it.
