Which dorm(s) should an incoming freshman choose?

Do freshman select which dorm they want to house in? If so, which are one(s) that are most desirable? Any help would be appreciated.

The basic answer is no. LLP’s determine which dorm you are in, or one is assigned to you.

@SoofDad‌ is correct, basically you get what they give you. Most of them are pretty similar anyway.

Lol there is no choice you are put wherever they feel like putting you. You don’t want to be on South Campus, that’s away from most freshmen (unless it’s queen anne’s, somerset, or brand new Prince Frederick). Honors dorms don’t have AC, some scholars dorms have AC (Cumberland). Denton community is solid (all AC, Oakland is new as well).

The majority of freshman housing is referred to as the high-risers on the North Hill. They are tall brick buildings that are arranged in communities. Basic dorm rooms. The options do get much better as you get “older” - click on this link and open the tab for residence halls - the three on the far left, Cambridge, Denton and Ellicott are the primary dorm assignments for freshman
