Which dorm shold I choose as a feshman (single occupancy) ?

I've decided on attending RPI and therefore will have to choose a room. I'd like a single occupancy room (Don't try to convince me of any other thing :P ) . Co-ed works. Would like a place where I get my privacy (No athletes, no ear tearing music, etc. ).
Btw are all the halls air-conditioned ?. Also I am international so no trips to "get a feel of the rooms".

“Practically every first year student is assigned a first year roommate. Very few are assigned to single rooms.”

Most of the freshman hosuing is not air conditioned.

As far as I know, Barton is the only hall with AC. However, it is mostly triples.

Quad has A/C too

My son is going to play baseball at RPI, so he is looking at staying in the BARH units. Does anyone know if the BARH dining hall has gluten-free food offerings? He has Celiac Disease, so he has special dietary restrictions. We spoke with the director of the RPI Commons Dining Hall, and they have a separate area in their cafeteria for students with special dietary needs, but I don’t know if the BARH dining hall also has the ability to serve gluten-free students?

No separate halls, but there are Gluten Free options and special food handling at all locations. See the following link: https://rpi.sodexomyway.com/health/index.xhtml

Thanks!

Hi ATrain121, I lived at BARH this past year despite not being a student athlete. The staff at the BARH dining hall are all very accommodating and willing to work with your son to make sure that everything works out.
