Hey all,

Anyone have good insights about the dorms? Good ones/bad ones...nice looking ones etc etc.

I'm a transfer student, but I'm hoping some of you would still have some insights on Cornell's dorms.

the class of 2009 forum has a thread on this, ask any questions in there might be good idea.

I am kinda computer illiterate-can someone please post the link to the C/O 2009 forum? Thanks!

NEVER MIND!!! WOW, I am not that illiterate after all!!!!! Looks like I might actually pass some classes at Cornell lol!

cornell is renovating west, meaning it's pretty much knocking all the old class halls down and building houses. each house has its own dining hall and stuff. if you're up at north, where freshmen are, you're definitely very lucky to be in court or mews, the newer dorms. if you're at west, i guess living in a house would be better than the old dorms. so far, alice cook house is already here and becker will be open next year.

Can freshmen choose which dorm they prefer to be in in north campus? or is it random?

it's random

quick question: creating an account for the class of 2009 site isn't enrolling right?

correct. you have to mail them 500 bucks to enroll or something :p

haha, sorry if that was an obvious question sparticus. thanks though.

dont worry about it CB, i'd have been cautious if it hadn't seemed clear to me.

help us here please...

as a transfer, you can't live at north where there are better dorms and food. try getting into becker (the newest house at west) or alice cook. if not cascadilla and sheldon would be good as well (they're in collegetown).

im not sure if there will be a transfer center next semester. sperry which is pretty much where the class of 1917 (transfer center) does their laundry is gonna be knocked down this summer for them to build a new house. and cornell is thinking about knocking all the class halls down as well so west won't be that good unless you're an upper classmen with a room in becker or alice cook.

ever thinking about off campus??
