I know this may seem like a silly inquiry, but our family will stay at the dorms for graduation this Spring, and our daughter is asking our preference (for me, it might just be one with a/c). Any input on pros/cons for North vs West campus dorms would be appreciated by tomorrow. Thanks!
We considered staying in the dorms but were able to snag a reasonably priced reservation at Holiday Inn Express Owego. Room was spacious with a refrigerator and microwave. I was a little worried that the drive would be long but the 35 minutes went by quickly. We only needed to drive to Cornell and back once each day. Breakfast was included. Another bonus was Owego had a very nice restaurant where we were able to have a graduation celebration with family without having made reservations months in advance. Highly recommend if you have a vehicle. https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/owego/owego/hoteldetail?cm_mmc=GoogleMaps--EX--US-_-OWEGO. Otherwise, I would definitely go for the air conditioned rooms. And remember your sunscreen. The sun was brutal out on the football field in 2014! Congrats & enjoy!
Thank you for your response, @mysmom !
It’s already costing us a fortune to fly out there and I didn’t want to deal with the high priced hotels or lotteries to get one. I did book a dinner reservation on January 1st though. So crazy. Anyhow, in case anyone else wants to know, to stay in West you need 5 people for a suite. We will be in Mews so at least in has a/c. It’s $220 total per person for 3 nights including breakfast Sat and Sun.
