I am kind of confused on why Stevens has two early decision. Anyone know which deadline is the best to apply by?

That really depends on your situation. If Stevens is clearly your first choice school and you don’t need to look at other financial aid offers in the spring, then do ED1. You will need all your materials in by Nov. 15 and will get a decision with an estimated FA offer, by December 15th. If you feel that you want to try and compare some offers and that time frame cuts it too close for you to receive any rolling admissions decisions, then you can opt for ED2 which has a later deadline (Jan 15) and decision date (Feb 15).

Just be aware, that if you are offered admission you have only about 3 weeks to make your decision or your application will be removed from the regular decision pool and you will not be able to attend.

Important note: Stevens’ ED1 and ED2 policies both state that the decision is only binding once you are accepted AND make a deposit. So if you find you are not offered enough FA from them and don’t send in a deposit, you are not bound to the school. Hope this helps!

Which early decision is better in terms of chance?

So, both ED’s will equally increase your chances because

Thank you!

[Stevens Institute of Technology Admissions Information - CollegeData College Profile](http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=71) indicates that Stevens Institute of Technology does not consider “level of applicant’s interest”, which is what applying ED signals.

Note that nothing on [Early Decision | Stevens Institute of Technology](http://www.stevens.edu/sit/admissions/apply/earlydecision.cfm) says whether or not applying ED actually makes admission more likely for a given student, and by how much if it does (the ED admission rate may be higher due to a stronger applicant pool applying ED).

My chances are diminishing.
