Which ECs to put on app?

Given that the common app only allows you to put down 7 activities, should I put stuff specific to my major or should it look more well-rounded?

I am applying for the computer science major and I have plenty of ECs related to computer science that I can put in. But if all my ECs are programming-related, am I at a disadvantage for not being well-rounded? If so, I would put in some sports ECs there right?

In general, how does Cornell admit people? Do they see if they are the right person for the major or do they prefer well-rounded students as many universities seem to do?

if you're looking at engineering school, yes they look at some sort of well-roundedness but they have to see that you like what you are going to be doing.

I would do about 20%-70%-10% sports-programming-other

@chendrix Thanks for the reply.

On a related note, for computer science, is it easier to get into engineering or CAS? Just going by numbers, I heard that engineering is much easier. But personally, I am very focused on computer science (done a lot of projects, taken a couple of courses at a local university, etc. one of my recs is actually from a cs prof). So, which college would be better for me to apply to?
