what are my chances to go to a Nuclear Eng masters ? Is that high ?
Given that you havenât even started your BS yet r would be pretty impossible to assess your chances of graduate school in any field at this point. Your best bet is to choose an undergraduate major that you think you would be happy if you ended up using it for a career. If you get toward the end of undergrad and still have interest in grad school, wonderful.
Another related question to ask is the mechanics of getting a visa to study NucE in the USA for a foreign born student. I know my foreign born roomie studied Aerospace Engineering and there were times where being foreign born did not help (field trips, plant visits, internship / co-op / research opportunities). That was 35 years ago in the height of the Cold War but still worth checking.
Regarding grad school with a BS from overseas the usual question is âwhere do kids from my school go for grad schoolâ. We student immigrant types tend to flock to the same schools so it should not be too difficult in this day and age to ask the school you will be attending in Turkey where their graduates end up. If a particular school in the USA has seen a few people from your school (or country) they may be more receptive and helpful rather if they canât find Turkey on the map. Check http://www.iie.org/Research-and-Publications/Open-Doors/Data for some entertaining statistics.
Hi,http://www.iaea.org/inis/collection/NCLCollectionStore/_Public/03/017/3017270.pdf what do you think about that ?
There is a table at the bottom of the file. It looks like chemical eng has an important role in nuke industry at least in canada.
Thanks
What do you think about that last article ?
That article is about 50 years old. The industry has change a lot since then.
