Which engineering schools do I have a shot at and any general suggestions

Hey so I am a white male for northern VA looking to go into engineering

Can any one privide me with some insight as to whether I have a shot at getting in the following schools and which might be the best for an undecided engineering major? Any of schools which I should apply to based on my stats would be nice.

So far I'm thinking :

Rice
UVA
VT
Carnegie Mellon
Georgia Tech
Olin college of engineering
Cornel

Gpa weighted 4.31 all As except one B in calculus AB . To make up for this, I took BC calc at nova community (Top cc in us) and got an A. As a result, my nova gpa is 4.0.
10/260 for top 5 percent of class
10 APs total including senior year
*Multivariable calculus first semester senior year and calc 4 second semester *

ACT: 33 with a 35 in math 35 in English and 31 in science and 29 in reading (I got a 32 in reading on a different date) in one date. Also a 9 in the essay for a 32 combined English writing score.

SAT math 2: 770
SAT us history:690

Extra circulars:
co-founder of a non profit organization dedicated to providing kids with comfort items and educations.

Placed second in biochemistry at the regional science and engineering fair

Received a 4 on the Virginia mathematics league test.

Math tutor in community and school

Board of governor for an advisory council dedicated to helping teens overcome issues with are most oppressing.

Tennis team number one seed and captain. MVP all three years. Competed at districts as a individual and team.

Boy scouts held numerous positions and soon to be eagle Scout.

Gold and silver presidential awards for over 300 service hours sophomore year and 200 junior year.

An alumni of leadership Loudoun and 2013 boys state. Elected city party convention leader. - leadership

Mu alpha theta, nhs, and foreign language honor societies, and all of those other app fillers.

Awarded magnum cum laude on Latin 4 national exam.

Attended a leadership camp.

Yes, you have a shot at all of them with your scores. Obviously Olin, Cornell, CMU and Rice are always going to be reaches… but I think you’re certain to get into one of the others (VT & Georgia Tech are easier to get into than UVA, but being in-state definitely helps)

You have a shot at all those schools, but the top schools are reaches, so who knows.

You’re OOS for GT, so will your parents pay the OOS costs there? If not, find more affordable schools.

What are some top ranked schools that affordable

Since you are a Virginia resident, I would consider VT a safety school with your objective stats. VTech is a solid engineering school, some of their programs are among the best in the country. If your family can afford to potentially pay full tuition here, then your stratgy gains tremendous flexibility.

UVa (in-state) and GTech (OOS) are both probably matches. UVa has a good reputation for FA, especially for in-state students; GT somewhat less since you are OOS.

You should be competitive at all the schools on your list, all of which guarantee to meet full need. You can use the Net Price Calculators on their web sites to get an estimate of what they would consider your family’s need to be.

Purdue is a top engineering school that offers generous merit aid, but lousy FA for OOS. Pitt might be another with good merit aid for your stats.

The challenge to answering your question is understanding your concept of “top ranked schools” and “affordable”.

Affordable as in under 40 K a year
