Which essay should I apply to college with?

Topic 1: I met a special needs man while volunteering to go bowling with them and he taught me a lesson about perseverance.

Topic 2: How I was bullied and it saved who I am and made me a strong person.

Topic 3: I was almost an aborted child and how it has motivated me even more to become an OB/GYN.

Write all three, revise them a lot, and give them to people so that they can tell you which best fits your personal voice.

All topics can be done well or done poorly. I would say that topic 2 is a bit cliche though.

I already wrote all three… :)…and thnx I thought the same about tht topic too…lol

I’m an English major and I’d be happy to read all 3 and give you some honest feedback. PM me.

send all three over ill give my best critique =]

The first one caught my eye the most. The last one is also very interesting, but you do not want to be too controversial in your essay.

And also like notanengineer says, number 2 seems too cliche. Though cliche topics can be very good too. It is what you make of it

I like to think of college essays like songs. About the same length, should have a title/few-word-theme that aptly summarizes the effort, and should be entertaining, semi-vague, and memorable. And, as in songwriting, you should strive for a balance between “the writer” and “the reader” (a.k.a. don’t sell-out, but don’t write an essay that only you can understand).

Song 1 (‘Broken Man’) would be okay. Song 2 (‘Stone Soul’) would be tight. Song 3 (‘Yo Mama’s Doctor’) would be terrible, albeit potentially worthy of an SNL skit.

Whichever one you feel the most passionate about…Just go with your gut

Thanks guys…I can’t PM my essays my laptop is off right now…I need a new charger…lol…but anymore suggestions.
