<p>If you are applying for financial aid FOR the 2010-2011 school year (the one that STARTS in Aug/Sept 2010) then you do the 2010-2011 FAFSA. So if you are a high school senior who is starting college in fall 2010, you do 2010-2011.</p>
<p>2009-2010 is the CURRENT school year (began fall 2009 and ends late spring 2010). If you are applying for financial aid for right now…you would do the 2009-2010 FAFSA.</p>

It says that I must register with Selective Services, but I’m only 17. The selective service website says I have to be at least 17 years and 3 months old to register. What should I do?</p>

<p>That simply means you have to register with Selective Service if you are legally required to do so (meaning, you are a male in that specific age range). Right now, you aren’t legally required/able to register, so it doesn’t apply, Once you do reach that age, though, you will need to register as required.</p>
