Which Florida College should I go to - UCF, UF, or FSU?

I’m a high school senior in the Panhandle that is fully dual enrolled at my local community college. I will be graduating high school with my AA degree as well as my high school diploma. I will be enrolling into the college of my choice as a freshman student with a whole lotta credits. My major is undecided, but I’m leaning towards a science/math degree (maybe engineering?). I have been accepted to UCF, UF, and FSU, and I have been accepted to the Burnett Honors College at UCF. I would love to hear some advice and pros/cons about each school because I have no clue. At the moment, UCF and UF are my top 2, but that could change.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Engineering? Most likely UF over the other two. It will offer better resources, etc. Your degree could matter. For example, FSU is at least as strong as UF in physics.

Good Luck!

I would try to tour the schools first because it really depends on what you’re looking for. If the social aspect of the college is really important I say UCF takes the lead. I know alot of students that go to UF and FSU complain that after a few weeks it gets boring, vs Orlando and UCF’s big campus, there is always stuff to do. However, UF has more of a prestige then any other colleges in Florida. It depends on how important that is to you. You should also look into the dorms of each college incase you care about that. Also, I suggest looking more into the honor college at UCF. Regardless, I think once you tour the colleges you’ll really get a feel for where you see yourself

Natcat2018, my son also was accepted at UCF Burnett Honors and UF Honors. He will start at one of these in fall 2018. We just toured the Burnett College on this past Monday. The opportunities they offer are very exciting. I love the early registration for classes up to a year early.(if honors has similar). Ucf has a required class first semester called honors symposium and it puts you in small groups and gives you a upperclassmen lead who allegedly is there for you to have someone to go to with questions either academic, social, how to get to publix, or do laundry. Sounds inviting. My son’s a bit of an introvert so knowing someone he can approach without judgement is nice. The dorms at hoNors at ucf are awesome.

Prestige isn’t very important for engineering so I’d go with UCF Burnett. In particular, the honors classes, the perks, the opportunity to avoid online classes unless you want to take one, the cohort system with peers, and oerosnal attention would really be a game changer.
However UF does carry a LOT of prestige and all your peers will be top notch regardless of class (engineering will be tough at both and honors classes at UCF will be made of top students exclusively but you may want to take non honors non engineering classes at UCF.)
Finally, UCF is just HUGE. UF is very large but not to that extent.
Will you be able to do an overnight, attend classes, eat in the cafeteria, stay in a dorm at both?

We are in the same predicament. For computer science it’s a clear winner, UCF. For Engineering we are leaning toward UF. Dual major ME/AE is a big consideration as S was undecided on which to pursue and an accelerated masters in ME. Average student is stronger at UF and we believe that will be a positive. More prestige, I’d hire a UF grad over a UCF grad (unless it was CS) and that speaks volumes to me personally. Lots of commuters and transfers at UCF. Burnett, location and housing is a big plus for UCF. Any information on internship and research opportunities between the two?
