Which foreign language would benefit more?

I'm starting out at a cc and plan to major in Civil Engineering.I'm wondering which foreign language would be more beneficial to take between "French or German" and stating why would helpful.

Welcome to College Confidential! The community isn’t that bad actually…

I don’t really think that either would be key. I suspect that French might help more as it is spoken in more countries than German. However, I’d recommend that you look into where you want to work. If you do want to work in Germany, than clearly go for German. Also, look at your job requirements. Lamborghini wants people who speak German in their engineering corps and maybe Buggati wants French speakers.

Goog luck though!

I mean cc as in community college sorry for the confusion

You don’t need any languages though. Try some other engineering/archetecture clases. Those will help on your job.

Good Luck!
(I spelled Good wrong previously…)

Whatever is the most common non-English language in the area you expect to work in. Or if your intended field of work involves going to or dealing with people and organizations in other countries, the languages of those other countries.
