i found a harvard mid-year school report form on its website.
so do we use the common app form, or the harvard one?
i'm very confused..

i called them and asked this a while ago...they said use theirs and don't use the common app

YaY...300th Post :-D!

Thanks! :) i find the harvard website very very confusing. They should find a better way to organize their info...

can anyone else confirm this?

because i already gave my counselor the common app midyear report...

^same problem. do we absolutely have to use the harvard one?? i'd rather use the common app one b/c it asks for nothing but a signature.. my counselor doesnt speak english and doesn't know anything about US college admissions so filling out forms is a major hassle. and i get so worried she's gonna mess it up. for my peace of mind i hope we can use the lame common app one lol...can anyone say for sure??

the common app one is just like secondary school report with all those checklist and questions about gpa and a space for an evaluation..if anything the harvard mid-year is shorter...

^ yea. but the common app one says not to fill out anything unless the info has changed since the secondary school report so my counselor just signed them.

I'm getting my counselor to use the Harvard Mid-Year Report.

^ same here.

Can you guys post the link to the Harvard mid-year form? I cannot find it on their website.

they should put this in the instructions somewhere. if it weren't for this thread i never wouldve found out.

The common application mid-year report form states that no distinction will be made between that form and the school's, so I think it is up to you.

While I looked at this, I found another hidden form, the School Report II. Have to check w/our guidance office to see if this info was covered...

^^ harvard said that form was required but you could have sent it if you wanted to

I called admissions today for a couple of reasons, and asked about this...thney said either the common app. or Harvard mid-year report is fine, and also that the school report II is optional, because a lot of people missed it, due to its confusing placement on the site (we told guidance that they could skip it or do it, joking that it depended on whether what they had to say was helpful or not!)
