Which good engineering schools have full ride scholarships?

I am an upcoming senior hoping to go out of state for college (I live in Kentucky). I have a 34 on the ACT, 4.0 GPA after all honors and 4 AP classes last year. I am taking 5 AP classes next year. I will have about 100 service hours and am an active member in NHS. I will also likely be at least National Merit commended next year, but hopefully more. What kind of schools could these credentials potentially earn a full ride/full tuition scholarship?

In addition to schools listed above that offer full tuition (/ full ride) merit scholarships, you might want to consider schools that offer the best need-based aid.

Your eligibility for need-based aid depends on your family’s financial circumstances. Run the online net price calculators to estimate costs for any schools that interest you. Excellent engineering schools that offer generous need-based aid include:
Caltech
Columbia
Cornell
Duke
MIT
Northwestern
Princeton
Rice
Stanford
Vanderbilt

These are all very selective colleges. Your strong stats alone won’t guarantee admission.

The military service academies also are strong engineering schools. Every student gets a full ride in exchange for a commitment to serve.

Don’t overlook your own state universities. Even without a scholarship, their prices usually are relatively affordable for state residents. Many have good engineering programs.
