Which GPA does ND list on their stat page?

Hey all. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but I haven’t found a solution, so I was hoping that one of you might know the answer. Does Notre Dame look at weighted or unweighted GPA’s when they list that xx% of students are within the top 1% or 5% of their school? I ask because my unweighted percentile is much higher than my weighted percentile, because my school gives no preference to AP or honors classes, which has allowed for some rank inflation (I’m 1% UW, but 6.7% W). I’d like to know which GPA to use to compare myself to previously admitted students.

This will probably end up being a short-lived thread, as I’m sure someone will know the answer, so there won’t be much to discuss. So I’ll take this time to wish everyone the best of luck on getting admitted, and a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

my best guess would be it’s weighted, because Notre Dame re-weights student’s GPA based on the level of classes that students took and giving preference to those with a stronger schedule. However, I wouldn’t worry too much because you’re up there regardless. Heck, they may just use whichever one makes them look better.

all in all, Best of luck! I know it doesn’t mean much, but try not to fret too much now: work on some homework or practice a hobby, it’s a rough few days waiting for the decision but there isn’t anything you can do right now.

@IliketoFence Oh, ND reweighs scores? Hopefully that should be an improvement for me. I actually didn’t apply REA (will be finding out very shortly if that was the best choice), but thanks for wishing me luck

Thanks for the answer, take care, and best of luck (if you’re applying)!
