Which grades do UC's take into account when transferring?

I went to a state school for my first year, and in my second year, I'm now at CCC so I can apply for a transfer to a UC next year. I read somewhere on here that the only grades from my CSU gpa that would be acknowledged for transfer GPA would be for the units that are transferrable (I took more than a few classes that weren't on a UC IGETC form or pre-reqs), and I was wondering if it was the same for CCC since I'm considering changing my major from one thing to another atm.

If both are faulty assumptions, please let me know ASAP.

Yup! So if you have a 3.0 GPA in CCC, but you started pre-req math classes and worked your way up to the required math course for transferring, none of those will transfer except the one they require. So your “transferrable GPA” will be different. I had a 3.3 in community college but transferred with a 3.7. As long as they don’t count for a UC GE or IGETC requirement.
