Which grammer book is best for writting

My S has trouble in SAT writting, especially grammer.
Anyone can recommend a good grammer book for him to work with?

umm a good grammAr book for wriTing is defdefdefdef barrons satII writing- good luck

I would recommend McGraw-Hill's SAT I, as it has a comprehensive section on all the different types of MC errors. Having taken a quick look at the new Gruber's, I can probaby recommend that writing section as well. The above books are valued for their discussion. For good practice material, Barron's is definitely the way to go.

If you're looking for a straight grammar book, I'd suggest Grammatically Correct by Anne Stilman. It is serious, comprehensive and enjoyable to read. If you want something shorter and more chatty, then perhaps you should look at Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss. It's a best seller, but after reading a page or two, I couldn't stomach its chatty nature. But it might work for you, depending on your taste.

If you are concerned about the length of Grammatically Correct, 328 pages, don't be. I'm not a particularly fast reader, but I was able to finish it in a few days of 1 to 2 hours of reading a day.

I can also attest to the quality of McGraw Hill's grammar section; it's great practice. Make sure you do the concept review in addition to the practice sections as it really helps reinforce the concepts.

Thank you all. I certainly will use that to help my s prepare for SAT.

Grammar smart from pr, brought me from a 60 psat writing sophomore yr to a 770 SAT I writing.

if you have time, "Elements of Style" by Strunk and White. Phenomenal!
